Status:-

• Pre-feasibility Report prepared in 1983.
• PC-II Proforma for “Feasibility Study, Detailed Engineering Design, Tender Documents, and PC-I” amounting to Rs. 305.271 Million submitted to MoWR on 20.09.2017, which was forwarded to Govt. of Balochistan on 19.04.2018 for endorsement.
• WAPDA informed MoWR that WAPDA has the expertise to handle large dams and also has in-house capacity to carry out Survey & Geotechnical investigations, therefore, the design of the project may be assigned to WAPDA.
• GoB vide letter dated May 08, 2019, requested WAPDA to hand over all the relevant documents/studies carried out by WAPDA for Badin Zai Dam Project to the irrigation department. MoWR was requested for advice on this matter on May 10, 2019.
• The Government of Pakistan has allocated Rs. 147.170 million in PSDP 2019-20 against the PC-II for Feasibility Study, Detailed Engineering Design and Preparation of Tender Documents of Badinzai Dam prepared by GoB.
• A meeting under the chairmanship of the secretary of MoWR was held on 24.07.2019 wherein it was decided that Govt. of Balochistan shall carry out the project studies.
