 Off takes from the Left Bank of River Indus Upstream of Guddu Barrage and flows in Ghotki, Sukkur and Khairpur Districts of the Province of Sindh.

Length of Branches Distributaries and Minors: 609 km(128 km in Phase-I)
Command Area: 412,400 acres (113,690 acres under Phase-I)
Scope of Work To provide seasonal/flood irrigation supplies up to 5,155 cusecs to 412,400 acres of Rainee track of Nara Region for agriculture and storage lakes. It would include construction 175 km of Main Canal and 609 km lined distributaries/minor along with allied structures.

Status:
• 1st Revised PC-I (Phase-I) of Rainee Canal Project amounting to Rs. 20,533.836 including rehabilitation works amounting to Rs. 576.623 Million approved by ECNEC in its meeting held on 26.05.2021.
• The provision of Rs. 576.623 Million on account of Rehabilitation / O&M works to be carried out by Irrigation Department, GoS has been released to WAPDA by Government of Pakistan through PSDP allocation and the same is to be transferred to Irrigation Department, GoS, which is pre-requisite demand of Irrigation Department, GoS.
• WAPDA requested Irrigation Department GoS on 21.10.2021 for providing “Title of Account” so that, the requisite funds may be transferred and direct the concerned office to convey convenient date for Taking Over of completed works of Rainee Canal Project (Phase-I), so that the benefits of the Project could be delivered to the Public in the larger interest of the Project.
• Rainee Canal Project (Phase-I) physically and administratively handed over to Irrigation Department, Government of Sindh for Regulation / O&M purpose on 20.01.2022.
• Physical Progress Phase-I 100% completed.
