Project Benefits
  1. 35% of total command area of Muzaffargarh Canal will be rehabilitated and 0.3 Million acres land of KotAdu will be brought back for cultivation.
  2. Increase in per capita income of inhabitants.
  3. Living standard of Inhabitants will enhance.
  4. Reduction in migration, due to waterlogging.
  5. Health of affectees will improve.
  6. Education & social activities will enhance.
  7. Increase value of land & ensure economic prosperity.
  8. Revenue of Government will increase, due to establishment of agro based industry.
  9. Water pollution, due to stagnant water will be eliminated.
  10. Good quantity water will be available for human being as well as livestock.
  11. Annual benefits Rs. 1.68 Billion per annum.

Contract Packages

MGC-02 - Earthwork, Lining of Canal and Rehabilitation of allied structures RD 39+576 to 100+000.  Fresh tendering of Contract MCG-02 will be initiated upon approval of 1st Revised PC-I.
MGC-03 - Earthwork & PCC Lining with drainage system under lining of Muzaffargarh Canal from RD 100+000 to RD 147+500. Work awarded on 25.04.2013. Upto date Progress is 100%.
MGC-04 - Earthwork & PCC Lining with drainage system under lining of Muzaffargarh Canal from RD 147+000 to RD 206+700. Upto date Progress is 100%.

1st Revised PC-I amounting to Rs. 16,698.992 Million forwarded to MoPD&R on 03.05.2019.
