INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS WAPDA MEMBER (POWER) HOISTS NATIONAL FLAG AT WAPDA HOUSE

Lahore – August 14, 2017: A graceful ceremony was held here today at WAPDA House to celebrate the Independence Day with national zeal. WAPDA Member (Power) Badrul Munir Murtiza was the chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the National Flag followed by the National Anthem that was sung by the students of WAPDA schools in consonance with the main flag hoisting ceremony at Islamabad.

WAPDA Member (Finance) Anwar-ul-Haq, Advisor Projects Nasir Hanif, HRD General Manager Brig (R) Shoaib Taqi and WAPDA senior officers and employees were also present on the occasion.

The students of WAPDA schools presented national songs in the ceremony.
The students also enthralled the spectators with their speeches highlighting importance of freedom as well as responsibilities to safeguarding it. The Chief Guest lauded the performance of the students and teachers of WAPDA schools and gave away prizes
to them. He also presented gifts to the children of deceased WAPDA employees.

It is pertinent to mention that a huge National Flag, especially prepared for the Independence Day measuring 100 feet x 40 feet and weighing 180 kilograms, has also been hung on WAPDA House.
