Federal Minister for Water Resources, CM Sindh discuss WAPDA projects in Sindh

February 15, 2023: Federal Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, accompanied by Chairman WAPDA Engr Lt Gen Sajjad Ghani (Retd) and Joint Secretary Water Resources Syed Mehar Ali Shah, had a meeting with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah at the CM House Karachi to discuss the matters about WAPDA projects in Sindh. The projects, which came under discussion, included K-IV, RBOD-I, RBOD-III, Nai Gaj Dam and Hub Dam.

It was agreed in the meeting that Sindh Government will expedite its efforts to augment distribution net work and provide electricity for pumping stations to match the timelines of K-IV completion. Enhanced security measures for Chinese contractors and efforts on part of Sindh Government for on-time availability of funds for K-IV Project were also agreed upon. It was decided that a joint survey will be conducted on RBOD-I and RBOD-III leading towards handing over of these projects from WAPDA to Sindh Government. The Chief Minister promised to clear payables for operation and maintenance of Hub Dam by WAPDA. The ways and means for expeditious provision of funds for Nai Gaj Dam Project were also discussed in the meeting.
The CM appreciated the efforts made by the Federal Minister for Water Resources and WAPDA for swift implementation of K-IV and other projects in Sindh.
