Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today performed groundbreaking of Chashma Right Bank Canal (Lift-cum-Gravity Project); also inaugurated refurbished Unit No. 8 of Chashma Hydel Power Station in a ceremony at DI Khan. Federal Secretary Water Resources Hasan Nasir Jamy and Chairman WAPDA Lt Gen Sajjad Ghani (Retd) were also present on the occasion.

WAPDA, united Kohistan Jirga ink agreement for development schemes as CBMs Agreement to ensure smooth completion of long-delayed 132 KV transmission line for Dasu HPP

December 12, 2022: WAPDA, Civil Administration of Hazara Division and United Kohistan Jirga, comprising notables of three Districts namely Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan and Kolai Palas Kohistan, reached an agreement today. The agreement is aimed at implementing a number of development schemes by WAPDA in the three districts for socio-economic uplift of the local populace. Most importantly, this agreement will pave the way for smooth execution/completion of long-delayed 132 KV transmission line from Duber Hydel Power Station to Dasu, direly needed for stable supply of electricity during peak construction period of Dasu Hydropower Project. In lieu of the development schemes by WAPDA, locals of the three districts will not create hindrances in the way to construction of the transmission line, ensuring its smooth execution.

Chairman WAPDA presents cash awards of Rs.4.8 million to WAPDA medalists

December 1, 2022: WAPDA Sports Board gave away cash awards worth Rs.4.8 million to WAPDA athletes in recognition of their brilliant performance for Pakistan in Commonwealth Games 2022, Islamic Solidarity Games 2022 and Paralympic Games 2021. WAPDA athletes won 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in Commonwealth Games, one gold medal in Islamic Solidarity Games and one gold medal in Paralympic Games.

Air War College delegation briefed about challenges, plans for water, energy security WAPDA executing water, hydropower projects worth Rs.2500 billion

November 28, 2022: A delegation of PAF Air War College Karachi, visited WAPDA House today. Headed by Air Vice Marshal Hussain Ahmed Siddiqui, the delegation was comprised of Pakistani and allied officers from Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Zimbabwe. A briefing was arranged for the delegation about water and hydropower sectors in Pakistan.
