WAPDA win 1st Women Kabaddi (Asian Style) Championship

Women Wrestling Pic 2            December 16, 2016: The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) won 1st Women Kabaddi (Asian Style) Championship defeating Pakistan Army in the finals played here at WAPDA Sports Complex. WAPDA secured 43 points while Pakistan Army could only manage 29 points.

              Punjab secured third position whereas Islamabad stood at 4th position in the championship.

            The 3-day championship was organised by WAPDA Sports Board in collaboration with Pakistan Kabaddi Federation. As many as seven teams participated in the championship namely WAPDA, Pakistan Army, Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

          Amer Ahmad, Secretary WAPDA/President WAPDA Sports Board was the chief guest of the ceremony who gave away trophies and medals to the winning team and the runners up. Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated the players and management of the winning teams. He also commended the organizers for making excellent arrangements for holding this maiden championship successfully.
