WAPDA wrestlers excel in World Beach Wrestling Championship; Both wrestlers win gold medals for Pakistan

Lahore – October 16, 2017: Representing Pakistan in World Beach Wrestling Championship, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) wrestlers showed exceptional performance by winning two gold medals for the country. The championship was held in Dalyan, Turkey from October 13 to 15, 2017.


Pakistan contingent that participated in the 3-day event comprised of two wrestlers namely Inayat Ullah and Muhammad Inam – both of them belong to WAPDA. In an unprecedented move, both the wrestlers won gold medals in their categories for Pakistan. Inayat Ullah grabbed gold medal in minus 70 kg category, while Muhammad Inam also secured gold medal in minus 90 kg category.

WAPDA Chairman, Members of the Authority and WAPDA Sports Board officials have congratulated WAPDA wrestlers on their excellent performance for Pakistan in the World Beach Wrestling Championship, and expressed the hope that WAPDA players would continue to yield tremendous results in international competitions for Pakistan.

Apart from achievements at international level, WAPDA, at present, is national champion in 33 sports and runners-up in 17 disciplines.
