Junior World Weightlifting Championship: WAPDA Weightlifter yet again brings laurel to Pakistan

Lahore – July 16, 2018:  Nooh Dastgir – a young, promising Weightlifter of the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) – yet again brought laurels to Pakistan with his brilliant performance in the Junior World Weightlifting Championship held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan from July 7to 14, 2018. WAPDA Chairman and Patron-in-Chief WAPDA Sports Board and other office-bearers congratulated Nooh Dastgir on winning the title with splendid display of his skills.

Nooh Dastgir, who was representing Pakistan in 105+ category in the event managed to win 3 medals in different categories.

As per details , Nooh Dastgir lifted 228 Kilograms (Kg) weight in Clean and Jurk Category followed by Iranian Weightlifter at 227 Kg for 2^nd Position and Armanian at 222 Kg for 3^rd Position and become first ever Pakistani who won Gold Medal at World Junior Weightlifting Championship.

In snatch category Nooh Dastgir grabbed bronze medal by lifting 171 kg weight and stood at third position. He performed his best which led him to beg another bronze medal for his best performance in all over Championship.

Prior to this event, Nooh Dastgir has also showed the outclass performance in the 21^st Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast, Australia earlier this year in which he won bronze medal for Pakistan.
