April 22, 2019: The defending champion WAPDA yet again clinched National Volleyball title by overpowering Pakistan Army in the final of the National Championship the other day.

WAPDA in a nail-biting final, beat Army by 3-2. First set of the thrilling match was won by Army, followed by two consecutive wins by WAPDA in the second and third sets. Making come-back in the fourth set, Army won the set and equalized the score. However, the decisive fifth set was won by WAPDA.

As the National Volleyball crown grabbed by WAPDA, Army remained runners-up, while Pakistan Air Force got third position in the National Championship.

Apart from the jubilant crowd, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar also witnessed the final between WAPDA and Army. The Governor distributed trophy and medals among the winning teams.

The 7-day National Volleyball Championship was organized by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation at Nishter Sports Complex, Lahore. As many as 16 teams participated in the Championship. The teams included Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, FATA, Islamabad, WAPDA, Army, Air Force, Navy, Higher Education Commission, Police, Railways and Pakistan Ordinance Factory.
