GEPCO WIN 47th WAPDA INTER UNIT KABADDI TOURNAMENT

October 30, 2016: Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) won the 47th WAPDA Inter-unit Kabaddi Circle Style Tournament-2016. Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) secured second while Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) third position in the event. The 3-day event was organized by FESCO Sports Association under the aegis of WAPDA Sports Board.

Mr. Talha Talib of WAPDA won Gold and Nooh Dastagir Butt won Silver and Bronze medals in Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship 2016

Lahore: 30 Oct 2016: Commonwealth Youth, Junior & Senior Weightlifting Championships were held at Malaysia from 22nd to 29th Oct 2016. 2 x WAPDA weightlifters were also part of Pakistan Contingent. Mr. Talha Talib, WAPDA Weightlifter while representing Pakistan won gold medal. Whereas, Mr. Nooh Dastagir Butt of WAPDA weightlifter won Silver medal in Commonwealth Junior Weightlifting Championship and Bronze medal in Commonwealth Senior Weightlifter Championship 2016. Mr. Talha Talib of WAPDA declared best weightlifter of Youth competition and lifted the trophy of best weightlifter.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

WAPDA PLAYERS EXCEL IN 3RD SOUTH ASIAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN INDIA

Lahore – September 29, 2016: The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Karate players, representing Pakistan in 3rd South Asian Karate Championship which was held recently at New Delhi in India, exhibited excellent performance for their country.

Pakistan secured 2nd position in Men’s Championship, while 4th position in Women’s Championship. All medals secured by Pakistan were won by WAPDA players. In Men’s individual events, Pakistan won 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals, while in Men’s team events won 2 silver medals. In Women’s individual events, Pakistan secured 1 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals, while in Women’s team events 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.

Besides, WAPDA Karate officials also participated in the course for Referees and Coaches organised by Asian Karate Federation at New Delhi, India. Uzma Asghar and Khalid Noor successfully completed the Referee Course while Babar Iqbal successfully completed the Coaching Course.

Meanwhile, WAPDA Sports Board has congratulated the WAPDA players and officials for their excellent performance in the championship.
