WAPDA TO COMMENCE T-12 CRICKET TOURNAMENT FROM MONDAY AT PESHAWAR

National Boxing Championships to Commence from January 20

Lahore – January 18, 2018: The 36th National Men and the 1st National Women Boxing Championships will be held at WAPDA Sports Complex from January 20 to 24, 2018 under the aegis of WAPDA Sports Board in collaboration with Pakistan Boxing Federation.

As many as 15 teams will participate in the Men Championships i.e. WAPDA, Army, Navy, Air Force, Railways, KPT, K-Electric, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, AJ&K, FATA and Gilgit Baltistan. Men’s competitions will be held in 10 weight categories which are 46, 52, 56, 60, 64, 69, 75, 81, 91 and 91+ kilogramme.

With a view to popularize boxing amongst women folk. Women Championship is being organized for the first time, wherein as many as 24 women players from the provinces and associations will compete in three weight categories of 51, 60 and 75 Kilogramme.

Opening ceremony of the Championships will be held on January 20 at 1330 hours. Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) President Lt Gen (Retd) Arif Hassan will be the Chief Guest, while WAPDA Chairman and WAPDA Sports Board Pattern-in-Chief Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) will be the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony scheduled to be held on January 24 at 1430 hours.

Lahore – January 15, 2018: The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman and WAPDA Sports Board (WSB) Patron-in-Chief Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) had a meeting today with the WAPDA sportspersons to felicitate them on their achievements, encourage them for their future endeavors and share his vision for promotion of sports in Pakistan.

WAPDA Clinch two more titles in 55th National Badminton Championship

Lahore – January 11, 2018: Subsequent to winning Men’s and Women’s team titles, the supremacy of the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) continued in the 55th National Badminton Championship, as it clinched two more titles in the event today. The titles won by WAPDA players included Women’s Single and Men’s Double.

WAPDA SPORTS BOARD CONGRATULATES ITS GOLFER ON WINNING FALDO SERIES PAKISTAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Lahore – January 9, 2018:
Ahmed Baig – a young, promising amateur golfer of the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) – clinched the title of Faldo Series Pakistan Championship in the Under-21 category in Karachi, and has been nominated the Captain of Pakistan Team which will represent the country in Faldo Series Championship to be played in Vietnam in March this year.

The office-bearers of WAPDA Sports Board congratulated Ahmed Baig on winning the title with splendid display of his skills.

Faldo Series title is yet another feather to his cap, as Ahmed brought many laurels to him, WAPDA and the country during 2017 as well.

Prior to his recent victory, Ahmed Baig, during last year, won First International Amateur Golf Championship Iran in May 2017, Sri Lankan Junior Championship in August 2017, the CNS Golf Championship Karachi in August 2017, Corps Commander Cup Golf Championship Gujranwala in October 2017, Prime Minister Golf Championship Rawalpindi in November 2017 and Punjab Amateur Golf Championship Lahore in November 2017.

WAPDA Win 50th National Volleyball Championship

Lahore- December 24, 2017: While successfully defending their title, the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) won 50th National Men’s Volleyball Championship held at POF Sports Complex Wah Cantt. WAPDA defeated Navy 3-1 in the final of the Championship.
