10-member Pakistani contingent: Four WAPDA athletes representing Pakistan in Tokyo Olympics 2021

 July 20, 2021: As many as four athletes hailing from WAPDA Sports Board (WSB) are representing Pakistan in Tokyo Olympics 2021 scheduled to be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021. WSB players, who are part of 10-member athletes contingent of Pakistan, include Arshad Nadeem, Talha Talib, Mahoor Shahzad and Najma Parween.

CGGC takes back notice: Construction on Dasu Project to resume very soon

July 18, 2021: The Chinese construction company CGGC through its notice issued today has declared its earlier notice null and void about contract termination of employment of Pakistani labour working with it on Dasu Hydropower Project. Thereafter, construction work on Dasu Hydropower Project will now be resumed very soon.

Dasu Hydropower Project: Chinese contractor’s bus meets an accident

July 14, 2021:A bus of the Chinese construction company China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC), carrying 41 persons including 36 Chinese, 2 FC personnel and 3 other Pakistanis, met an accident this morning on the way to construction site of Dasu Hydropower Project from the contractor's camp. Consequently, 9 Chinese, 2 FC personnel and 2 other Pakistanis died, while 28 were injured. The rescue operation was immediately started by Dasu Hydropower Project authorities and the district administration, Upper Kohistan.

K-IV Project: WAPDA awards Contract for Consultancy Services

July 8, 2021: With a view to its commitment for constructing Greater Karachi Water Supply Scheme (K-IV) in the shortest possible time, the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) today awarded the contract worth Rs.1.14 billion for unified consultancy services for the project to a Joint Venture (JV)through an international competitive bidding. The JV comprises of an Austrian and two Pakistani firms. The unified consultancy services agreement consists of design review, detailed engineering design for conveyance system, allied electro-mechanical works, power, coordination for distribution system, preparation of bidding documents and the PC-I.
