September 14, 2018: The second unit of Tarbela 4^th Extension Hydropower Project also resumed operation the other day, as WAPDA engineers managed to lift draft tube gates of the unit. The second unit is generating 300 MW electricity, which is being contributed to the National Grid.

Lahore – September 12, 2018: In the wake of Supreme Court’s decision and the Government’s resolve for early commencement and timely completion of Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams, the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), while gearing up its efforts for implementation of the projects, today received pre-qualification bids at WAPDA House from as many as five joint ventures of foreign and local firms through international competitive bidding for construction of main dam and appurtenant structures of Diamer Basha Dam Project.
