Another unit starts contributing to National Grid; Neelum Jhelum Project’s contribution to be doubled in 10 days

June 19, 2018: In what can be termed as a significant development, the second unit of Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project has also started generating power today to its maximum capacity of 242.25 MW, which is now being transmitted to the National Grid. As per contractual requirement, this unit will be initially on a 3-day and thereafter on a 30-day reliability period and will continuously generate power to its maximum capacity for the system.

June 11, 2018:  Consequent upon the improved hydrological conditions and availability of water, the first unit of Tarbela 4th Extension Hydropower Project has started electricity generation with effect from June 8.

Unit No. 2 of Neelum Jhelum Project starts generation on trial basis

May 30, 2018: Consequent upon the completion of its mechanical-run tests, Unit No. 2 of Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project has also been successfully synchronized today with the National Grid. The unit has generated up to 185 MW electricity on trial basis. The unit will gradually attain its maximum generation capacity i.e. 242.25 MW in due course of time. The Unit No. 2 will also undergo reliability test and reliability period in accordance with the contractual obligations.

Neelum Jhelum Project : 1st unit starts providing electricity to National Grid

May 18, 2018: Following completion of its reliability test and adjustments thereafter, the first unit of Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project today has started providing electricity to the National Grid. The unit will contribute 242.25 MW power to its full capacity to the system for one month (reliability period) after which its commercial operation will commence.
