Neelum Jhelum Project’s contribution to National Grid becomes double - Project providing 484 MW to National Grid

July 07, 2018: In yet another significant development, the contribution of Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project to the National Grid has increased to 484 Megawatts (MW), as two units of the project (Unit No. 3 and Unit No. 2) are now generating power to their maximum capacity.

June 29, 2018: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and Maldives State Electric Company (STELCO) to collaborate in carrying out capacity building of STELCO.

Water Resources Minister briefed about water, hydropower projects ‘Construction of Diamer Basha, Mohmand dams to be started in FY 2018-19’

 

June 26, 2018: Water Resources Federal Minister Syed Ali Zafar visited WAPDA House today. WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (R) briefed the Minister about the issues of water and hydropower sectors in the country. The Minister was also apprised of WAPDA projects, particularly Diamer Basha Dam and Mohmand Dam.

WAPDA to help Maldives in power sector development

June 25, 2018: A 4-member delegation of Maldives State Electric Company (STELCO), headed by its Chairman Ahmed Aiman, today called on Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) at WAPDA House. The delegation is on a 6-day state visit to Pakistan to learn from the experience of WAPDA and benefit from its technical and human capabilities.
