WAPDA EVALUATING POSSIBILITIES TO SAVE SLIPPAGES OF ADDITIONAL WATER IN HUB RIVER

April 23, 2017: The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil  Hussain (R) visited Hub Dam located in the vicinity of Karachi and had a detailed round of the spillway and embankments of the project. WAPDA General Manager (Projects) South was also present on the occasion.

IDB SELECTS WAPDA’S KHWAR PROJECTS FOR ITS SUCCESS STORY REPORT

Lahore – April 14, 2017: The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has selected the three high-head hydropower projects – Khan Khwar, Allai Khwar and Duber Khwar – owned and operated by the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) for its report about successful financial projects of the IDB. The report being documented now-a-days will be presented during the 42nd Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 17 and 18 this year for showcasing successful contribution of the IDB in its member countries during the last six years.

Excavation of over 68-km tunnels of Neelum Jhelum Project to be completed by end April WAPDA Chairman visits to review construction work on project

Lahore – April 13, 2017: The 969 MW-Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project is scheduled to attain a major landmark, when the second Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) will achieve breakthrough of the Right Headrace Tunnel during the last week of April, marking the completion of excavation of over 68-kilometer long tunnel system of the project. The breakthrough of Left Head Race Tunnel was achieved in October 2016.

WAPDA awards Consultancy Contract for 2nd Rehabilitation Project of Warsak Hydel Power Station

Lahore – April 11, 2016: The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) awarded the contract of consultancy services worth Rs.868 million through an international competitive bidding for 2nd Rehabilitation of Warsak Hydroelectric Power Station to a Joint Venture comprising four firms led by Dolsar from Turkey.
