WAPDA UP-GRADES VARIOUS POSTS OF OFFICIALS; 2960 OFFICIALS TO BENEFIT FROM UP-GRADATION

Lahore - March 19, 2017: On the analogy of the Federal Government’s decision and to motivate its employees, the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) up-graded the various posts of its officials across the country from the existing Basic Pay Scales (BPS) to the higher scales.

Hurdles removed: WAPDA Projects heading towards completion at good pace WAPDA to add 2485 MW from end 2017 to mid 2018

Lahore - March 17, 2017: In pursuit of its commitment for optimal utilization of water and hydropower resources, the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) will add 2485 MW hydel electricity to the National Grid with completion of its three under-construction hydropower projects from end 2017 to mid 2018 to help eliminate electricity loadshedding from the country as per the Federal Government’s resolve. These projects include the 969 MW-Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project, the 1410 MW-Tarbela 4th Extension Project and the 106 MW-Golen Gol Hydropower Project. After completion, these projects will cumulatively contribute 9.432 billion units of low-cost and environment-friendly hydel electricity to the system every year.

Dasu Hydropower Project: WAPDA signs two contracts worth Rs. 180 billion for main civil works

March 8, 2017: In what can be termed a major milestone towards implementation of Dasu Hydropower Project, the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) today signed two contracts namely MW-01 worth Rs. 115 billion and MW-02 worth Rs. 64.4 billion with China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) for construction of main civil works of the project.
