WAPDA, NLC discuss strategic cooperation to implement mega projects

February 26, 2019: A 5-member team of National Logistics Cell (NLC), headed by the Director General (DG) Major General Muhammad Asim Iqbal today visited WAPDA House to discuss the strategic possibilities of cooperation in mega projects in Pakistan. In a meeting with Chairman, Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Lieutenant General Muzammil Hussain (Retd), and other senior officers concerned, the areas wherein WAPDA and NLC could benefit from the expertise and experience of each other were thoroughly deliberated upon.Pic 1

APPROVAL ACCORDED FOR AWARD OF MOHMAND DAM CONTRACT

February 22, 2019: Following a comprehensive bidding and evaluation process and exhaustive technical negotiations, the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in a meeting held today accorded approval to award contract to CGGC-DESCON Joint Venture (JV) for civil and elctro-mechanical works of Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project. The Authority also directed the project authorities to issue Letter of Acceptance (LoA) as per the rules. Consequent upon signing of the agreement, the contractor will mobilize at site in March 2019.

Cash awards to WAPDA players for winning medals in National Badminton Championship

Pic 1 01 02 19Lahore – February 01, 2019: WAPDA honoured its players on winning the medals in 56th National Badminton Championship, held from January 25-31, 2019 at Lahore. For the purpose, WAPDA Sports Board arranged a prize distribution ceremony at WAPDA House today. WAPDA Chairman and WAPDA Sports Board Patron-in-Chief Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (Retd) was the chief guest of the ceremony, who presented cash awards to the WAPDA players and their coaches. WAPDA Sports Board office bearers and senior WAPDA officers were also present on the occasion.
