DASU HYDROPOWER PROJECT

Dasu hydropower project is being constructed on Indus River with installed capacity of 4320 MW (in two phases). This is another World Bank funded project. WEC has remained quite active partner in improving the environment and social sustainability of this project. WEC evaluated and suggested improvements in all environmental and social studies undertaken by renowned international consultants’ joint ventures.

WEC put forward and presented valuable contribution during whole stakeholders’ consultation processes. WEC is also assigned the internal auditing of Dasu HPP. Being the most seasoned environmental cell in country and with track record of 28 years of rich experience of environmental management, our contribution and initiatives are paying dividends for enhancing the judicious management of environmental and social issues at Dasu HPP.
