• WEC is also participating in the review and evaluation of Environmental Impact Assessment reports of various WAPDA Projects.
• WEC is involved in couple of environmental studies of future HPPs’ such as Shyok HPP, Bhimber Dam Project and Chiniot Dam Project.
• WAPDA Environment Cell has facilitated Stakeholders’ Consultation Meetings on Environment studies for various Hydropower projects i.e Golen Gol HPP, Bunji HPP, Diamer-Bhasha Dam, Tarbela 4th Extension HPP, Gomal Zam Dam
• WEC carried out Environmental Impact Assessment Study for 132 KV Double Circuit Transmission Line of Gomal Zam Dam project (from Tank to Khaju• Carried out Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) Study for 4.4 MW Renala Hydropower Project.
• WEC is in the preliminary stage of carrying out EIA of Hydropower Training Institute Mangla.
• WEC assessed environmental flows for Allai, Khan and Duber Khwar projects. Keeping in view ecological needs of aquatic biota, riparian users water requirements, dilution factor and environmental sustainability of affected nullah reaches from weirs sites downstream to confluence points at Indus in all three cases.
