SAFRON Federal Minister briefed about WAPDA Projects in Balochistan

November 03, 2016: Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Lt Gen Abdul Qadir Baloch (R) today visited WAPDA House and had a meeting with Chairman WAPDA Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (R) to discuss the matters relating to projects, which are being constructed by WAPDA in Balochistan province.

National Defence University Delegation Briefed on Water, Power Sectors

Lahore – November 01, 2016: A delegation of National Security and War Course of National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad today visited WAPDA House. The delegation headed by Brig. Hammad Qadir, attended briefings on the water and power sectors of the country. WAPDA Member (Power) Badr-ul-Munir Murtiza and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

NJHP Panel of Experts Calls on WAPDA Chairman Appreciates Progress on Project

November 01, 2016: In the wake of 10-day detailed visit to the strategically important 969 MW-Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project (NJHP), international panel of experts (PoE) of the project comprising world known professionals namely Dr. Martin Wieland and Dr. Johann Golser had a meeting with Chairman WAPDA Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (R) and the project management to share their observations, findings and recommendations.

Milestone achieved Excavation of Left tunnel of Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project completed

October 23, 2016: In what can be termed a significant development towards completion of the strategically important 969 MW-Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) completed the excavation of left tunnel – one of the critical components of the project. The project management achieved this milestone today when it successfully connected the two portions of the left tunnel with an amazing precision. During its mining operation, one of the two tunnel boring machines (TBMs) broke through the left tunnel from downstream side joining it with the portion which had already been excavated through traditional drill-and-blast method from the upstream side.
